The dryer was blowing straight into the crawlspace. The old flex had come off the boot. The customer did not know until they called us for an inspection. That is heat and moisture on a dehumidifier they are already paying to run.

What we pulled out

The rest of the run was foil flex on plastic hangers. It drooped, held water, and was packed with lint and hair. We pulled the whole thing, laid it on the lawn, and took it with us. We do not leave that pile for you to bag.

Inside a cut section you can see how tight the lint was. Flex does that. It sags, it kinks, and it never really cleans.

What we put back

Hard metal, mastic on the joints, metal strapping. Long-radius turns so air does not slam into a water heater or the humidifier. A Dryerflex transition at the machine. Outside, a No Pest cover on the vinyl. It dumps lint and exhaust and keeps Rockingham County critters out of the pipe.

That is a dryer vent repair, not a brush-and-go. If your flex is hanging in the crawl or you can feel heat under the house when the dryer runs, we should look at it.
