Crushed stub and a long foil hose

On one house the installer had cranked the clamp so hard it mashed the metal stub. The end was oval. For years that edge sat against the hose and dust-blasted the wall. We wiped the wall, then cut the damaged piece off so the opening was round again.

The transition they left us was a long foil hose. S-curve, too much slack, ugly. We put Dryerflex on a short run. Tight, no sag, no crushed stub.

We pull the dryer onto our floor mat first. Tile or hardwood, we do not leave scuffs.

Lint in the pipe, then a number outside

On another stop the lint trap housing was packed with dust and hair. Inside the pipe the lint was felted the whole way down. We brushed it out.

Outside we put the airflow meter on the cover after the clean. The number was good. We did not have a before reading on that house, so we do not guess one. If clothes take two cycles, or you see gray dust on the wall behind the dryer, we should look at it.

Why cut the metal stub instead of leaving it?

A mashed end will not take a clamp clean. It also chewed the hose and blew dust on the wall. Cutting it back to a round opening is the repair.

Why replace long foil flex?

It sags and it kinks. This one was a long S-curve for a short gap. Dryerflex stays short and open.

Do you protect the floors?

Yes. The dryer comes out onto our mat. We do not roll a machine across your tile.

How do you know the vent is clear?

We brush it, then we can meter airflow at the cover. This house had a strong after number. We do not invent a before if we did not take one.
