What dryer vent cleaning is

Your dryer pushes hot air and lint through a duct to the outside. The lint screen in the door catches most of it, but not all. The rest settles in the duct, in the outside cover, and inside the dryer around the blower. It builds slowly, so you never notice it from one load to the next.

How often a townhome needs it

For most households, every 2 to 3 years. A family running a few loads a week is about right at 2. One or two people with light laundry can stretch it to 3. Kids, pets, or daily loads bring it closer to once a year. We wrote more on how often to clean a dryer vent.

If your townhouse has never had the vent cleaned, it’s due. A lot of homeowners have never had it done, and the dryer usually still runs. Clothes just take a little longer, and the machine works harder than it needs to.

What we do

We pull the dryer out and clean the full vent, from the machine to the outside cover. When the inside of the dryer needs it, we clean around the blower too. Every cleaning includes a high-heat, UL-listed connector hose behind the dryer. If yours is damaged or the wrong kind, we replace it.

Often it does. If it doesn’t, vent cover repair is very reasonable, and we come prepared for a variety of setups.

What should I do before you get here?

Clear the floor and the top of the dryer. Empty it and don’t run it right before we arrive. Leave it hooked up. We’d rather unhook it ourselves.

Will you fix the hose on the back of my dryer?

Yes. Most airflow problems start at that connection. Every cleaning comes with a high-heat, UL-listed hose. If yours needs more than that, see dryer vent repair.

How do I pay?

You pay the technician when we’re done, and we email you a receipt. Check or cash is preferred. We also take card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Digital payments have a 3% processing fee.
