Waterbury: Community Showcase

Waterbury is the planned community in Whitsett off I-40/85, Rock Creek Dairy Road. Pool, tennis, pickleball, sidewalks, trails. Wakebridge, Heron Pointe, the townhomes, and Whisper Creek all sit under that name. We already posted the Whisper Creek job. This page is the rest of what we find in Waterbury.

A lot of these homes vent through the roof or high on a two-story wall. If the dryer is taking two cycles, dryer vent cleaning in Whitsett is the same flat rate as everywhere else we work.

Behind the dryer

We pull the machine and look at the short hose to the wall. Out here it is often ripped. A torn hose blows lint and dust into the laundry room. The dryer still runs. The room just gets filthy.

A cleaning includes a new UL transition. If the laundry room is tight, we use Superflex so the hose does not kink when the dryer goes back. We compare the options in dryer transitions compared.

Roof vents and bird guards

The banner is a roof cover packed solid. Lint had nowhere to go, so it hung out the mouth. We go on the roof to check it even when the cover looks fine from the ground.

Builders put enclosed bird guards on some of these houses. They keep birds out and they also trap the lint. The cover clogs and the whole line backs up. We carry lint-free bird guards on the truck. Birds stay out. Lint and moisture still get out. More in exterior vent cover replacements.

We have also found nest material mixed in with the lint inside the pipe. If a cover is broken or screened shut, something will find it.

FAQ

Can a ripped transition hose make my laundry room dusty?

Yes. The tear lets lint and heat dump behind the dryer. The vent can look fine from outside and the room still fills with dust.

Why is my dryer vent cover packed if it has a bird guard?

Some builder covers use a closed cage. Birds cannot get in, and lint cannot get out. We swap those for a lint-free guard.

My dryer vent goes out the roof. Can you clean it?

Yes. A lot of the homes in Waterbury vent through the roof. We go up, open the cover, and run the brush through.
